First, and last time yesterday. We ordered the classic American bacon cheese burger, and meat loaf w/ mashed. I ordered the burger med. rare, it came well done, cooked thru, dry and tasteless. Bacon was puny strips, like one might find on a McDonalds burger... I sent the burger back, the nice waitress, Lou, who said she was new, apparently, also new at serving, as she told us she failed to tell the cook i wanted it cooked med.rare,?!? Cook maybe is illiterate, as he too, failed to read the ticket. Also, bun was cold, not toasted, or warm !! 2nd try: Burger arrived, this time,sliced in half,for my inspection, i suppose, this time, it was cooked medium, again, not to my order ! WTF !! This is America, damn it, and if u have a diner, w/ zero guests in it besides us 2, why in the fuck can't you show a little care, and skill, in cooking a lousy, which it was, Hamburger ?!?!?! Fries were ok... Meat loaf appeared to be a packaged , pre-made variety..imho, not good flavor, under seasoned, and squishy texture.... I realize we are in Port Orchard, and they usually serve drunk sailors, but,sheesh, this was a lousy experience...... Also, there was a little old bald man,who i think was wiping down dirty tables, who time to time gave us the good ole 'stink eye',that too,was a lovely touch.. Call off your troll!

This place is homemade. Literally. The food, the decor, the booths, everything. Good, old fashioned comfort food. Hand cut fries, home made pies - apple crumb is the best - real mashed potatoes, home made chili (my wife's favorite) and the second best fish & chips in Kitsap (my favorite - the best are at the Airport Diner). Not for chain restaurant fans.

The atmosphere felt homely. Not to my taste. The prices were a little pricey, but not too bad. The food tasted good. I had the Hawaiian Hamburger with an older of French Fries and an Ice Tea. It came to $9.77. The parking is a small parking lot.

Ratings: 3.5 Food - 3 Price - 4 Service - 4 Cleanliness - 2.5 Just had breakfast at BSR for the first time. The prices were low, service good and the food was typical Diner style. Coffe was bad but that expected for Diner coffee I guess. The kids meal was great. 3 big pancakes with eggs and a lot if bacon for $3.49 Biscuits and gravy was good also. Overall not a bad spot but just a little wore down.
